MRC Development Partners, LLC is a Dallas, Texas sponsor of private-placement oil and gas joint ventures, formed in March 2022. It is the investor-facing affiliate of Magna Resources, founded in 1995, and of Triangle Three Resources, L.L.C., a licensed Texas operator formed in 2003.
This page lists what can be checked in public records, what is company-reported, and how each figure on this site is calculated.
01 · The Entities
Three entities, and how to verify each one.
All three operate under the same principals. C. E. “Kip” Zimmerman founded Magna Resources in 1995. Randal Rust joined in 1997 (engineering and finance). Scooter Glass joined in 2002 (petroleum geology, engineering and operations).
A note on dates. The 30-year history on this site belongs to Magna Resources and its principals, not to MRC Development Partners, LLC, which was formed in 2022 to give qualified individual investors direct access to the same drilling program after years of institutional funding. We state both dates on purpose.

Triangle Three Resources, L.L.C., Operator No. 868790.
Operated projects are run by Triangle Three Resources, L.L.C., Texas Railroad Commission Operator No. 868790 (P-5 status: Active). Its operating footprint covers more than 60 counties in southeast, south and south-central Texas across four Railroad Commission districts.

04 · The Figures We Use
What each number means, and what it is based on.
These are company-reported, unaudited figures. None is a projection, and none should be read as a return on any individual venture. Venture-specific results are addressed in that venture’s offering materials.
- 01
$100M+ — returned to partners over the past decade
Cumulative cash distributions paid to joint-venture partners across Magna- and MRC-sponsored ventures. Distributions are cash paid out, not profit, and they include return of capital.
Basis: Company-reported, unaudited, from internal distribution records.
- 02
80+ — wells drilled at Brookshire Dome
Count of wells drilled by Triangle Three Resources in the Brookshire Dome Field, Waller County, 2003 to January 2017.
Basis: Company records. Cross-checkable in Railroad Commission well records under Operator No. 868790 and, for wells drilled before May 2003, under Magna's operator number.
- 03
2MM+ BOE — produced from the Brookshire southeast flank
Cumulative production from the Brookshire Dome southeast flank, as of January 2021. The count includes wells Magna operated before Triangle Three Resources was formed in 2003 and wells later divested, whose production since sale is reported under the buyer's operator number. For that reason the total is larger than the production shown under Operator No. 868790 alone.
Basis: Company records. The Triangle Three-operated portion is cross-checkable in the Railroad Commission production query (see the public-record figures in section 03).
- 04
30+ years — of management experience
Years since Magna Resources was founded in 1995. Applies to the principals and to Magna, not to MRC Development Partners, LLC, which was formed in 2022.
Basis: Public record.
05 · Independent Evaluation
Third-party work we can point to.
We do not claim that every project has been independently engineered. Where a third-party report exists for a specific project, it is identified in that project’s offering documents.
- 01
DeGolyer and MacNaughton
Reserve appraisal of the Brookshire Dome leases, July 2012.
- 02
William M. Cobb & Associates, Inc.
Dallas reservoir engineering firm. Engineering study of the Brookshire Dome project.
- 03
Dawson, Bell & Murphy and Tricon
3D seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation, Brookshire southeast flank, 2015–2016.
06 · What to Ask Us
What you should ask, and what we will show you.
Before investing in any sponsored venture, a qualified prospective partner can expect to receive and should review the following. If a sponsor will not give you these things, do not invest with them, including us.
- 01
The offering documents for that specific venture
Confidential information memorandum, joint venture agreement and subscription documents, including risk factors, fees, assessments and conflicts of interest.
- 02
The operator, by name and Railroad Commission number
For each project, who operates it and under what operator number, so you can check the Commission's well and permit records yourself.
- 03
The sponsor's compensation for that project, itemized
What MRC Development Partners and its affiliates are paid, and when, stated line by line.
- 04
Any third-party engineering or reserve report
Where one exists for that project, the report itself. Where none exists, a clear statement that none exists.
